An Antminer S19 produces about 75 to 80 decibels of noise. That is equivalent to a vacuum cleaner running right next to your ear, 24 hours a day. Your family (and neighbors) will hate you.

But you don't need a warehouse. You can silence the beast.

The "Cooler Box" Method

The most popular DIY solution is using a heavy-duty camping cooler (like an Igloo).

  1. Cut Holes: Cut a 6-inch hole on each end of the cooler.
  2. Add Ducting: Attach insulated HVAC ducting to both holes.
  3. The Miner: Place the ASIC inside the cooler. The thick plastic insulation blocks the high-pitched whine of the fans.
  4. Airflow is Key: You MUST use powerful inline fans (like AC Infinity) to push air through the ducting. The miner's internal fans are not strong enough to push air through 10 feet of tube.

The Result

If done correctly, you can drop the noise from 80dB to 45dB (the sound of a quiet library).
Now you can keep your miner in the basement or garage, enjoy the heat, and stack sats in peace.
